BS Detector is an artificial intelligence tool designed to discern factual content from misinformation. It provides users with capabilities to examine the authenticity of content obtained from various sources. This tool works in three primary ways - it allows users to either enter a URL to the questionable content, upload a screenshot of the text or copy-paste the text directly. As the tool is capable of handling a wide range of content, it can evaluate information drawn from social media posts, webpages, images and shorter textual snippets. It is designed for ease of use without the requirement of any advanced technical knowledge. The process to evaluate the validity of information is initiated by the user clicking on the 'Check for BS' button after inputting the data. While the tool does perform efficiently, obtaining results from certain data types like tweets may take longer, hence a screenshot might be a more efficient alternative. The tool aims at promoting better information hygiene by examining the reality behind the content that is widely spread on the internet and differentiating between facts and falsehoods. Note: For optimal performance when inputting images, it is recommended to screenshot just the text, and keep any pasted text concise.
